- COMPUTERFAX
-
-
-
- This is more like a simple test to see if the program works.
- ComputerFAX is like pages off a teletext television. The system
- however, doesn't get updated like teletext does. The only way it
- changes, is by users altering and making their own pages.
- The program is very easy to use. Load the program and you'll be
- presented with the menu.
-
- (1) View Individual Pages:
- The screen shows the current drive path and asks you for if you want
- to see the directory. Type 'y' to see the directory, and type the
- filename when you see the want you want.
- If you don't want to see the directory, I presume you know what file
- you're looking for. Type 'n' and then type the filename.
- NEVER include the '.pge' ending, the computer recognised that
- automatically.
-
- The file will load and will display the first page of the file. A
- prompt in the bottom-right hand corner will ask for your wanted page.
- Type that in. If the page doesn't exist, you'll be told.
- PAGE 1 is usually the contents, or a small intro to what's in the
- file.
-
- Type 999 to exit to the main menu.
-
- (2) Create a Page
-
- Creating a page is a longer process that involves the simple editor.
- There are a few rules that you must remember.
- You can catalogue the drive path, to see what file to add to, or if
- you are starting a new file from scratch, type 'x' and then the name.
-
- Then type the page number. DO NOT! TYPE A PAGE NUMBER THAT ALREADY
- EXISTS BECAUSE YOU WILL ERASE THAT PAGE COMPLETELY!
-
- You must know what page you're using before you create it. Please be
- careful in this area.
-
- You're asked if this is O.K. Use Y or N and either redo the filenames
- etc or begin editing.
-
- The file will set itself up on the disk. A small white cursor will
- appear at the top left corner.
- This is the VERY VERY simple editor screen.
- Type normally. The text doesn't word wrap, and you can't delete in
- CAPS LOCK!
-
- (The new editor is being worked upon!)
-
- Pressing enter returns you to the left edge of the screen. The arrow
- keys don't work. It's basically a text editor only!!
-
- Anyway- after you've done your text. Use the right mouse button to
- exit the screen. The file will be saved and you will return to the
- main menu
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- (3) Exit.
-
- The exit has to be confirmed. Type 'y' to exit and 'n' to return.
-
- (4) About ComputerFAX
-
- Just the few rules about editing etc.
-
- (5) Disk Options
-
- There are eight simple options that are really self explaintory. The
- 1st option catalogue the current drive path. (2) lets you change the
- drive path. Use 9 to exit. Set Drive style is simply the number of
- characters of the filename that appears when you catalogue the disk.
-
-
- COPYING THE FILE
-
- The file is called "ComputerFAX". Copy this file to your disks and to
- all your friends. The more people that have the program, the more
- pages are made and the more it gets updated.
- Call Creative Software Applications if you have ideas to the actual
- update of the editor. We could use some more ideas!
-
- Put the program onto a disk of it's own, so you have room to store
- pages.
- Please please copy the program to everyone you know.
